Huawei officially launched the Pura 80 series in China on Wednesday, introducing four models: the Pura 80, Pura 80 Pro, Pura 80 Pro+, and Pura 80 Ultra. The standard Pura 80 features a 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Both the Pro and Pro+ variants are equipped with a 1-inch 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 48-megapixel macro telephoto camera. The top-tier Pura 80 Ultra shares the same main sensor as the Pro models but stands out with a new switchable telephoto system, featuring dual lenses with different optical focal lengths for enhanced versatility.

Huawei Pura 80 Series Price Breakdown

The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is priced at CNY 9,999 (approximately Rs. 1,18,900) for the 16GB + 512GB model and CNY 10,999 (around Rs. 1,30,800) for the 16GB + 1TB variant.

The Huawei Pura 80 Pro+ is available at CNY 7,999 (roughly Rs. 95,100) for the 16GB + 512GB version, while the 16GB + 1TB option is priced at CNY 8,999 (about Rs. 1,07,000).

As for the Huawei Pura 80 Pro, the 12GB + 256GB configuration costs CNY 6,499 (approximately Rs. 77,300), with the 12GB + 512GB and 12GB + 1TB models priced at CNY 6,999 (around Rs. 83,200) and CNY 7,999 (roughly Rs. 95,100), respectively.

The Pura 80 Pro, Pro+, and Ultra models are currently available for purchase in China through Huawei VMall. However, Huawei has not yet revealed the pricing or availability details for the standard Pura 80 model.

Huawei Pura 80 Ultra Technical Overview

The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra packs a beautiful 6.8-inch Full HD+ LTPO OLED display with a sharp 1276 x 2878 resolution. It’s built for smooth visuals, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and a 1,440Hz PWM dimming that helps ease eye strain during long periods of use. Huawei hasn’t shared details about the processor inside the Pura 80 Ultra—or any of the models in the series just yet—but it does come running the latest HarmonyOS 5.1. Inside, there’s a hefty 5,700mAh battery, with support for incredibly fast 100W wired and 80W wireless SuperCharge.

One of the most impressive features of the Pura 80 Ultra is its switchable telephoto camera system. It uses two telephoto lenses with 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom, made possible by a moving prism mechanism that allows both focal lengths to work off a single 50MP sensor with sensor-shift optical image stabilization. The camera setup is rounded out by a large 1-inch 50MP main sensor, a 40MP ultra-wide lens, and a 1.5MP Red Maple spectral camera designed to capture richer color detail. For selfies, the phone includes a 13MP front-facing camera that delivers clear, vibrant shots.
