Nothing Ear (Open): Design, Features, and Specifications Explained
Although the Nothing Ear (Open) lacks Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), it makes up for it with a Sound Seal System and directional speakers, which Nothing claims help ensure that only the wearer hears the audio, minimizing sound leakage.
The earbuds are powered by 14.2mm dynamic drivers with a titanium-coated PET (polyethylene terephthalate) diaphragm, which the company says delivers high-quality, immersive sound. Key features include pinch controls, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, Dual Connection, and AI Clear Voice Technology to enhance call clarity.
The Nothing Ear (Open) also comes with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, covering both the earbuds and the charging case. Each earbud contains a 64mAh battery, while the charging case houses a 635mAh battery. According to Nothing, users can expect up to 8 hours of playback on a single charge, and up to 30 hours with the case.
For users with non-Nothing smartphones, the Nothing X app is available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, offering access to full features and customization. The earbuds also support AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs for wide device compatibility.
