Tecno Spark Go 2: Budget Smartphone with Small but Useful Upgrades
Tecno has introduced its latest budget smartphone, the Spark Go 2, the direct follow-up to last year’s Spark Go 1. While the core hardware remains mostly unchanged, a few notable improvements help set this new model apart.
The most visible upgrade is the IP64 rating, a step up from the IP54 on the previous model, offering better protection against dust and splashes. Tecno has also added new smart features, including the Ella voice assistant, which supports various Indian regional languages.
On the front, the Spark Go 2 has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It includes an 8MP selfie camera, while the back houses a single 13MP rear camera, despite having a dual-cutout design.
The phone runs on the Unisoc T7250 (T615) chipset, the same as before, with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, expandable via microSD.
It ships with HiOS 15 based on Android 15, and Tecno claims the device can deliver up to four years of lag-free usage, though no specific details on long-term software updates have been provided. Power comes from a 5,000mAh battery, now supporting 15W charging.
Additional features include stereo speakers tuned with DTS audio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IR blaster, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Tecno Spark Go 2 is available in Ink Black, Titanium Grey, Veil White, and Turquoise Green, and is priced at ₹6,999 in India.
